CW Solutions is contracted by Wood County Human Services Department to provide Family Preservation Therapy, which provides in-home counseling to children and their families who are currently receiving services through Wood County Human Services Department such as youth justice or family services. The therapists or family preservation service providers coordinate with social workers to provide support to families in need. A therapist or family preservation service provider assists families with skill development and management of mental health, substance use, maltreatment, trauma, and/or behavioral needs. The primary focus of the intervention is to preserve the placement of children and youth in their homes or aid in reunification efforts by partnering with families to achieve their identified goals. 

Family Preservation Service Providers are generally bachelor-level interns, pursuing their masters in counseling or therapy, while master-level Therapists are pursuing their 3,000 hours of supervision in order to earn their full counseling license.

Referrals to the therapy program can only occur through Wood County Human Services Department. Individuals interested in becoming a Family Preservation Therapist or Service Provider should email employment@changewithin.net



Natalie Wachowiak, LCSW, Team Lead

Natalie is a certified Advanced Practice Social Worker and has worked at CW Solutions since October of 2021. She serves as the Team Lead for the Family Preservation Therapy program and also works with children and adults through Comprehensive Community Services. Natalie believes that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of all change, regardless of modality. She enjoys “meeting clients where they are at” while utilizing family systems and experiential therapy. In her personal life, Natalie enjoys anything outdoors whether it be hunting, fishing, tending to her garden and house plants, or playing frisbee with her two Labrador retrievers.

Bree Markey, FPT Intern

Bree is a Master of Social Work student with a focus on clinical/mental health and will be graduating in December of 2024. Along with her role as an intern with Family Preservation Therapy, Bree works as a 4SIGHT Social Worker with CW Solutions and Wood County. In her role with the 4SIGHT Program, she supports youth in foster care by providing skill building services to the youth and their foster parents. Bree believes that all families are capable of success and enjoys providing support, clarity, and a wraparound approach to help families and individuals achieve their goals. Bree has worked in a variety of settings including community based mental health services, outpatient therapy, CPS and Youth Justice. Bree works through a trauma informed lens understanding that no two stories or experiences are the same and there is no “one size fits all” model. Each person brings value to this world and deserves to know that and have the opportunity to share it. In her personal life, Bree enjoys a variety of activities with friends and family from garage sales to pontoon boat rides. Bree is also a huge animal lover and enjoys playing with her dog (a very fluffy keeshond), parrot, and hedgehog.

In addition to supporting families in Wood County as an intern in the Family Preservation Therapy program, Karriann also serves as a Youth Mentor for the Wood County Youth Mentor Program. Creating the program in 2019, Karriann has worked with adolescents in the community with a developmental mentoring relational model, focusing on building social and emotional skills, providing youth-centered activities, and coaching a growth mindset. Utilizing trauma-responsive techniques in building relationships with adolescents, Karriann’s focus working with families is also trauma-responsive, providing dignity and healing-centered engagement with all families she connects with. As a therapeutic provider, Karriann enjoys practicing a variety of modalities with her families including solutions-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and family of origin (or narrative) style therapy. Outside of providing services in the community, Karriann is passionate about volunteering and supporting community initiatives that bring people together. In her personal time, Karriann enjoys spending time with her pets, camping, listening to music, and spending time in nature.
