Wood County Human Services Department partners with CW Solutions to operate the nine-county region for the NorthCentral FoodShare Employment & Training Program (FSET) since April 2015. Through FSET, we serve the following counties: Adams, Wood, Portage, Marathon, Lincoln, Langlade, Oneida, Forest, & Vilas.

FSET is a voluntary program, providing free services to:

• Individuals who are age 16 and older, and
• Who are receiving FoodShare benefits.

Services include case management support, various employment and education activities, and connections to employers and community resources that are based upon an individual’s unique and self-identified short-term employment or training goals. Specific activity and support options include, but are not limited to:

• Career assessment and exploration
• Job search assistance, including work history collection, job application completion, and employment leads
• Employer connections
• Soft skills training
• Job skills training
• Resume and cover letter development
• Interview preparation
• GED/literacy education
• Barrier abatement

Our services and supports don’t stop when participants secure employment. FSET can also assist with job retention support, including working toward career advancement or professional development goals, expanding soft skills or specific job skills, providing support for workplace conflicts and difficult communications with employers, and more. We believe that every participant we work with should have the opportunity to use their skills and experiences to secure and maintain their best job yet!

Participants who are actively engaging in the FSET program are eligible to receive support services to complete their FSET activities, including transportation assistance, interview and work clothing, training costs, job retention support, and more.
