We have an immediate opening for a FSET Case Manager in New Richmond, WI. An FSET Case Manager is responsible for serving FoodShare Members who enroll in the FoodShare Employment and Training (FSET) Program. This position is responsible for directly serving FSET customers to support them in meeting their employment-related goals and connecting them to the labor market, through strengths-based case management, judgement-free support and community collaboration. This position requires the case manager to meet FSET customers where they are at; this is an in-person position that requires a worker to provide services in offices and communities.
A successful case manager is someone who is passionate about serving people through a lens of empowerment, is supportive and non-judgmental and has excellent computer, organizational, and documentation skills.
The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Primary Functions:
- Provide holistic, inclusive, and comprehensive case management services to all FSET participants to ensure they are provided opportunities to gain life skills, job skills, and/or educational credentials to enable them to achieve their employment or career goals.
- Develop and maintain community relationships to reach eligible FoodShare Members who may not have heard of FSET.
- Document all actions in the state CWW computer system within one business day.
- Utilize online reports to monitor and manage caseload for policy compliance and accuracy.
- Provide back-up support for other team members including other case managers, the program support specialist team and front desk reception.
- Other duties as assigned.
Case Management Functions include:
- Provide On-Demand enrollment services for in-person walk-in requests and telephone appointments.
- Complete initial and ongoing assessment of participants’ current situation, strengths and needs.
- Develop and update the Employment Plan to document participants’ short- and long-term goals, action steps and activities in the FSET program to assist in achieving their goals.
- Monitor and document attendance, goal progress, activities, communications, supportive services, referrals, and any other relevant actions.
- Build and maintain strong community partnerships to provide meaningful referral pathways for participants.
- Collaborate with other community programs for co-enrollment and additional community supports to provide successful outcomes for participants.
- Assist participants with job applications, resume development, and interview preparation.
- Work with the Career Services team to share labor market information and connect participants with employer partners.
- Provide soft-skills development through one-on-one and group workshops with pre-developed curriculum.
- Assess and provide support services to facilitate participation in FSET activity, including employment, while enrolled in the program. Support services include transportation (gas cards, taxi tickets, and/or bus passes), interview clothing, work-related clothing and tools, vehicle repairs, emergency housing assistance and short-term education costs.
- Provide job retention case management services for participants who gain employment.
- Develop and maintain worksites for volunteer work training opportunities.
Education: Required: Bachelor degree in Human Services or related field.
Experience: Not necessary.
Transportation: Required – This position requires the staff member to hold a valid driver’s license and use their personal vehicle. Mileage reimbursement is provided for all business-related travel.

- Ability to establish rapport with coworkers, partner agencies, Income Maintenance staff, and other applicable individuals and groups that are intersected with. This includes a strong sense of respect, honoring confidentiality, and a willingness to engage in crucial conversations to resolve conflict.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of focus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, keyboarding and MS Office skills.
- Must have keyboarding skills of 40 WPM minimum.
- Basic everyday living skills, the ability to understand and follow directions (agency manuals, etc.), and reading and writing (for reports) is necessary.

Physical Requirements

Working Environment
- Address stressful situations and crises, some of which may be considered mentally demanding.
- Provide services in varying environments, including office and community locations.
- Regular driving to and from offices and community agencies. Some driving may take place during nighttime hours or mild to moderate weather conditions.
